Top Questions About the Conference

    • What does my conference registration fee include?
      • Your conference registration fee includes attendance at all educational sessions, continuing education credits for the sessions attended, and several complimentary meals/events.

    • What meals are included with my conference registration? What other options are available for breakfast and lunches?

    • May I bring my family or friends to the conference?
      • Yes, you may. If your family members or friends will just be sharing your hotel room and not participating in any conference events, there is no charge.  If your family member wants to join you for the recognition reception, there is a guest registration charge to cover the cost of the food. You can add a guest registration when you register for the conference registration. Please make sure to include the guest’s name.

    • How many nursing CEs are offered for the conference and how do I get my CE certificate?
      • The amount of CE that you receive at the conference will depend on the number of days and the number of sessions that you attend. As a point of reference, the number of contact hours is based on 1 contact hour equals 60 minutes of learning time. For example, a 1 hour and 30 minute session would equal 1.5 contact hours. To obtain your CE certificates after the conference, you will go to the DDNA website and complete an online conference evaluation for each of the sessions attended. Once you complete the evaluations for each session you attended, you can print out your certificates directly from the website.

    • Are we allowed to share hotel rooms with other conference attendees?
      • Yes, you may. The room rate for the Hyatt Regency is $155/night for single and double occupancy. For additional occupancy, check with the hotel when you register for additional charges. If you are looking to share a hotel room, you can post a message in the Forums section of the DDNA website in the Conference forum. There you may find someone who would also like a roommate or to share a ride.

    • How do I get my conference manual?
      • You can print out your conference manual FREE from the website in advance of the conference. You have the option to print out all the conference sessions, or just those sessions that you plan to attend. Because we have to wait for speakers to send their final slides and handouts to us, the conference manual will be available online beginning sometime in March. We cannot guarantee all presenters will provide slides for the manual. If you are bringing your own laptop on which to take notes, you may request a flash drive containing the conference manual. You will be asked how you would like to get your conference manual when you register for the conference.  Flash drives are available by pre-registration only.

    • I’m having trouble downloading the conference brochure. What should I do?
      • We suggest that you update your Acrobat Reader. The conference brochure is very colorful and contains large pictures, which require a recent version of Acrobat Reader – get it here. This software is free and safe from viruses. If you need extra copies of the conference brochure, you can send a request to admin@ddna.org.

    • Does the cost of registration include my airfare and hotel room?
      • Your hotel, airfare, and other personal expenses are your responsibility. DDNA has arranged a discounted hotel price for you during the conference and for a few days right before and after the conference, in case you want to add some vacation days to your conference attendance.

    • I’d like to add some vacation days to my stay. Can I stay at the hotel before or after the conference for the same hotel rate?
      • The hotel has set aside some extra days both before and after the conference dates for people who would like to arrive early or stay after the conference and enjoy a fun vacation. We recommend that if you are planning on coming early or staying longer that you book these rooms as soon as possible because there is limited availability for these extra days. Make sure that you let the hotel know that you are a DDNA conference attendee when you register for these extra days so that you can get the discounted room rate.

    • How can I request an accommodation for special needs at the conference?
      • If you need special hotel room accommodations for a physical disability, please inform the hotel when you make your room reservation. Requests for vegetarian/gluten-free/diary-free/etc. meals should be made at the time of registration.
